We just sat down and did an overhaul of ours and made sure we were maxing ours to the fullest of our capabilities.
For example...
My wife’s matches 100% on the first 1%, then 50% on the next 5%, and 0 after that.
Mine currently has a 44% match now on unlimited deposits from me (up to the federal limit).
So we put hers at 6% and we monitor mine based on our savings/checking account level of comfort to attempt to maximize it now.
The negative to 401K is they are tough to access if you find a farm you wanna buy or some other capital purchase....
