I have seen railroad engines on a little used track idle for a week or more. Not that cold either. Must be a reason.


When they get below freezing just for a little bit, the valves pop out and it will drop all of its water on the ground, then you can not re start unless it's filled up again. Mist are retrofitted to auto start/stop systems, but they wear starters out like crazy.
