havin'funfarming - 2/8/2019 14:50 Yes but we mustn’t forget the reasoning behind it. They shut off to help meet ever increasing fuel efficiency standards. It was not introduced to reduce engine wear. It might or it might not.

 

My car doesn't wear out when it's switched off. Thinking about it, most of the new semi's that collect our grain switch themselves off now too.

In some places it's an offence to let your engine idle in traffic. Road diesel here is over $6/US gallon at he current rate of exchange and it's been much more expensive than that.
