SC KS
Speaking from experience, being cheap is actually more expensive. 90% of engine wear occurs at start up. In summer when it's 70° or higher it doesn't need all that much time to warm up. If the engine is warm I wouldn't shut it off unless it's not gonna be used for over an hour. In a truck, leaving it on over night is a little over board, but it's really very inexpensive, truckers do it all the time. Just go to your local truck stop at 2:00 in the morning. I'll bet you there's at least one truck running. When it comes to starters, it is cheaper to leave it running to a certain extent. You have to find that happy medium. Being "cheap" can be expensive, but leaving stuff running all the time, isn't necessary if not being heavily used. Just my $0.02

Edit to add, like someone said, you should also take A/C into account
