Yes, and in addition Deere tractors for decades had the sticker on the corner post that says let it warm up a couple minutes at startup and let it cool down a couple minutes before shutdown. I am paraphrasing, but figure Deere and Cat would be a good resource on proper idling for their engines. When extreme temps occur, I usually go a little longer, but hate wasting fuel if not necessary.
