Glasgow, Ky		Biggest problem today is "keeping up with the Jones's" and easy credit. People see what others have and think they got to have it. Got to give their kids what others have or they are not good parents. Farm equipment, houses, vehicles, you name it. Most younger folks have as good, or better, homes and vehicles tham their parents do. It used to take many years of hard work and saving to do it.
Years ago most farmers lived frugally. If you didn't you wouldn't last long in farming. Now most farmers standard of living is higher than the average person. Most of us could live and farm a lot cheaper than we do. Its not that we can't, we just dont want to. Things that used to be luxuries are now necessities. If we wnt through another depression people would quickly find out what living cheap is all about.
