Yep. The farmers' mantra...lets live like paupers so we can die multimillionaires and have our son-in-laws sell the farm.


I'm more for a happy medium. Built my own house (with help) eight years ago...still got a decade of payments but have LOVED coming home to a nice house. I drive decent vehicles but won't spend 50k on a vehicle of any kind. Have taken vacations most years with my kids...lots of memories for a few thousand a year.


and if you can get by on $150 electric bill, you likely have three bare bulbs and an old gas stove. I'd say $300 for the house is probably on the low end anymore.


But I'm pretty sure you just post stuff like this to stir the pot around here.
