sw corner ia. | I don't live in the north country, but I have planted a lot in conditions exactly like you just described and have never seen a "reduced stand" except for a crust that developed and I have a rotary hoe for that. works very well too.
I will say that what I do see is it can take one or even two weeks longer for corn to emerge. If you are waiting for it to quit raining for two weeks I would rather already have it in the ground.
