Subject: RE: So here's some food for thought

NC Iowa

Yesterday at 10:00am. The soil temp was 53-55* at seedling depth (2"). Surface temp was around 63*, pretty much air temp at the time.

Today at 1:00pm.  Soil temp at the seedling was 39-41*. Outside temp at the time was around 40*.  We had .48 inches total.  Doesn't take long to chill down deep with a cold rain.

I planted on Saturday evening and a little Sunday.  I choose to wait and didn't plant Monday. Stuff planted early Monday may be OK, stuff planted late Monday or Tuesday AM may be in trouble IMO.
