Subject: RE: Question for Coup-farm bill, land prices

Napanee, Ontario
"I have never seen land cash flow at current commodity prices."

And yet I still hear all the time, the complaining about "How on earth you can cash flow this land on $4 corn???".

You can't. And you won't. Just like it's never cash flowed at the prevailing commodity prices. Yet apparently today it's different.... apparently this time, unlike nearly every other time in history, it should all the sudden make sense to buy it where everyone can afford it on $4 corn, or whatever the price might be. LOL

Of course, it's different today when the land is actually worth something substantial...when people that actaully sacrificed (not buying new equipment, shiny trucks, houses) and bought land instead.... bought it when it was dumb idea because - hey, "why wouldn;t you just rent it?"
