Your mixed up.

The market is the market. That simple.

If there were more packers that would be better for the market due to more competition.
More packers, processors and purveyors = more homes for product.

If packers were not allowed ( due to anti trust law provisions in the usa ) to feed their own cattle, that works out to more market competition also.
( with no captive supply a processor buys supply on the open market).
Unfortunately cattle packers buying feedlots appears to be a typical usa 2 big to fail deal.

As far as your interpretation that supposed non reported beef exports cause a lack of transparency ( that causes supposedly something else etc ) is perhaps Very misleading.

guess 1 thing your misleading on is that whole muscle beef exports are reported ( granted it's 1 cut and whole loads of said ).
