southern MN
My understanding here in MN is the gravel roads are assumed to be 50 (or 55?) mph or whatever conditions allow.

It is difficult to get 'special' speed limits imposed for different areas, as this leads to a lot of folks putting in patisions which becomes difficult for the board to sort through, and then there is a patchwork of speed limits to follow that become confusing to drivers. Unless there is some very unusual deal, the boards tend to leave things as they are so as not to bring up problems for themselves....

Doesn't mean you shouldn't try, just - that is where the other side will be coming from.
