If your banker is holding you back its time to find a new banker ... if we would have listened to our banker we would still be milking 90 cows with a bunch of junk equipment and working our buts off harder than we are now with no money for putting food on the table let alone taking a vacation somewhere along the line . the problem with hiring the forage harvesting out is that a custom operator takes care of his biggest customer first then down the line to the smallest so if you are even in the middle you are not getting your hay made at optimal time . 2 days standing in the field maturing makes a huge difference on feed value ... Not trying to p!$$ anyone off just trying to say there are ways to improve production without spending a lot or any money for that matter ... and sand and sand equipment pays for its self in most cases where there is cheap to reasonably priced sand , I can see like behog if it is that expensive to get sand it may not be an option
