German Valley, IL
Really ??? $30 a ton ??? where are you located ? the expensive stuff around here is $6.50 - $7.00 a ton plus delivery ... also do not use what they call Dairy sand it is to fine , the more coarse the sand the better to an extent ... we use torp sand about the cheapest you can get ... I do not know what your current setup has for equipment but you should do some research on what you can do to change your facilities over to sand ... Look into EQUIP money and see if it is available that can really cheapen up the equipment the other thing you need to budget into sand use is the premium you will get on lower SSC ... I will have to ask my sister for sure but I think our coop is $.85 / 100wt for under 100,000 SSC and a few small steps paid down from 300,000
