The difference between 50 and 80 lbs on a 40 cow herd is over $78,000 per year gross. 30lbs x 40 cows =1200lbs/day x $18/cwt =$216/day x 365= $78,840/year. Would have to do the numbers to be exact but I would bet $40,000 of that is net income.
