Sorry, didn't spend much time on the puter yesterday...Yeah, that gear that was buggered up would be 6&8, somebody ground it into gear really hard & burred the teeth on the gear & the shift collar so they locked together. That's really abusive, the bottom shaft isn't supposed to be shifted on the go...
You should be able to order the 3x5 syncro parts separately. I haven't checked A&I, they may be available there.

PS: make sure your parts guy sees that the 6&8 gear is different between a syncro & a quad. It is D-range in a quad...
