pirlbeck - 10/15/2021 19:23 If not already installed put the increased flow transmission pump in it. But do not use the necked down suction tube, instead bore the hole out and use the 40 series suction tube.

I was also surprised that they said the lube pump that was in it was fine. It has to have 10,000 hours on it. Seems kinda strange to re-use but I suppose they are fairly simple. Maybe they last forever?

No, they do not last forever, for sure not 10K hours. And a brake failure is death on the trans pump, it has to pump anything that will go through the screen. Probably had a new one when the diff was done...

Thanks. Just called the manager that is overseeing the rebuild. He said he looked at the pump from the top side and said it looked fine. Said they are very simple and not a high concern item. Said he can have the tech take it apart on Monday to further inspect it if I want. Seemed resistant to installing a new or larger one.

What are the advantages of a larger one?
