If a person still has the land they bought in the late 70's and early 80's they are in pretty good shape. I also saw a fair amount of guys that bought land then and it was sold a few years later to someone else and they where not able to continue farming. That is why I think it depends so much on how much money you have to borrow to buy that land. I would not want tp buy something that would make me highly leveraged right now.
