Floyd County, Iowa
Whenever this is brought up, I always think of the song "In Color" by Jamey Johnson.

My folks went through the Great Depression, and I always liked listening to Dad talk about it, and tell of the hardships. Mom didn't say much about it. Dad was born in 1930, and had 2 siblings. Mom was born in 1935 and had 12 siblings. Both were born and raised on farms, and both are gone now.
I've always remembered everything they said they went through, vowing to be as prepared as I can be, should it ever happen again.
