I remember my grandpa talking of running this type baler. A man stopped to visit and smacked his horse which made it lunge forward and grandpa almost lost a leg. He was hot. I cannot remember who it was, I'm certain he's long gone too. I think he said the baler would make two strokes for each circle the horses made.

The one that almost got his leg is still sitting in the same spot by the highway I believe. I'll have to remember to look at it next time I pass.
