South Central Wisconsin | Some really good ideas here. I gotta remember these.
Building into the side of a hill is nice. Use the mass of the earth to help regulate temperature.
Also - long eaves to keep high summer sun out, but let in low winter sun for heat help.
Put the driveway in the sun, never shaded by a building. The shade blocks the sun from melting snow and ice. | |
