ECIL | Ranch style instead of a two story; I doubt you will want to take stairs in your later years. Have a tile installed around the outside of the footing with it's own sump pump and a second inside under the basement floor with it's own sump pump too. My parents did the same in the 70's and there have been many times both pumps ran a long time. If you go with a ranch style have two water heaters, one near each end. It will take a lot less time to get hot water to a faucet. Go maintenance free on the exterior as much as possible. Put each room on it's own circuit breaker and have separate breakers for each major appliance. | |
