Floyd County, Iowa | I guess it has. We used to add 5% to our cost of materials, and then hoped that was thin enough. Wasn't much profit in new housing, or new anything, for that matter. Just used the house projects to help our purchasing. Bought lumber, plywood, shingles, drywall, by the truckload instead of a couple units at a time. Same with ag and commercial building sales. Helped to keep inventory costs down a little.
Glad I'm out of it now, but still miss it. | |
