| John, like looking at the markets - always follow the money. If the government gravy train (climate research) quit running, there would be a lot of people who would have to find useful employment. And I agree - I hate to hear that so many of these academics now are building economics computer models - and that these models are what seem to be trusted.
In case anyone is wondering about the climate models, this is one place I have a couple of decades of experience. The models are junk - pure and simple junk. They curve-fit the (very poor) historical data with these computer models, and then they wonder why the models don't work. Every one of these models rely on what they call "sensitivity factors" for CO2. In plain terms, they really should be called fudge factors. Each model has its own "sensitivity factor" - that should tell you everything you need to know about the modeling reliability. In reality, I'm now sure, it's all about generating lots of new tax revenue. | |
