Central Iowa | I have switched over to growing non GMO beans because of the premium I can recieve. Since I ridge-till, it's not a difficult transition because I cultivate, plus it gives me an advantage for dealing with weed resistance. If the end user wants a non GMO product and is willing to pay me a premium, then I'm more than willing to do it.
I also rent an organic farm which is a totally different system, the premium is much higher, but the yield much lower (so far). Weeds and fertility are the big issues. I'm not sure the premium is large enough to compensate for weeds and lower yields.
