Powell is the only one talking sense - he sees no reason for rate cuts. Last week said the dot plot may not matter and the dot plot said rate cuts. I hear JPow saying no rate cuts when he says that.

If the powers that be really want to turn the $us into a raging dumpster fire than rate cuts will do it. Interest rate hike is the better path forward vs a cut, but holding rates at 5% is fine.

Once again, when talking rate cuts we are talking about the unelected, unaccountable group controlling the rates and thus money flow. This is not capitalism - this is central planning and oppossite of capitalism. It is central planning that caused the burden on the average guy to increase significantly in 15 years via destruction of the currency and therefore theft of one's savings and devaluation of their labor. Capitalism would never put the cost of capital at lower than the debasement cost of the capital. Meaning capitalism would ensure that you couldn't gain on land inflation faster than the debt cost to purchase. So no, its not capitalism that has destroyed the world around us - its the central planners who have done it. And since governments are supposed to have over sight of one of the most important parts of a functioning country then no, governments are not doing a good job.

I don't know where things go but as long as debt expansion continues, and accelerates then it is clear that more and more people will understand that getting rid of dollars is one way to protect yourself.

And it is easy to see what BRICS are doing. Not hard to understand the $us is becoming more worthless with each passing year and the people in control of it have no intention to stop this. Therefore any foreign country outside the $USD sphere has already identified that continuing with the $us is a loosing proposition. Just like land values here at home are showing. So yes, an alternative is coming. Only the die hards who have full faith in the $us don't see it and will say land values are up because land generates massive returns from 15 years earlier. Of course those same people can't explain how a 40 year home became 300% better also over the same period. Foreign countries know what is happening, denying that they don't and saying BRICS is going to fail is saying that the we have the best possible people in charge of our financialized prison.
