I think in some cases it’s people moving in — not to farm but to live. Our local school district with class sizes of 40-60/class (typical small rural school) has added between 2-4 kids in most grades. That’s not a lot but percentage wise it really is, from a county that’s lost population in every census since the 40’s people from cities are looking for a way out. Banker said they’re working with multiple families moving into the region. Friday night was date night, we went to local establishment— place was full, probably only knew 30% of the people in there - usually it’s nearly all of them. Maybe it’s a local thing, but people want out of the mayhem.

It's starting to have that feel here. Any reasonably priced home is snatched off the market quickly. My quess if you farm in an area not too far from a moderately size city this very thing is happening all over.
