NW Iowa. / SW Arizona | I had a bulging disc back in 1989 that caused a lot of pain in my sciatic nerve and lower back. That was the longest most miserable year of my life, it took a full year to get over the pain in my back and leg.
Long story short spent a week in the hospital, steroid shots in the back, laid flat on my back for 6 weeks, numerous Dr. and chiropractor visits, lots and lots of back exercises, a lot of walking.
I wanted the Dr. to do surgery in the worst way but he said only as the last resort. Hindsight I’m glad I didn’t have the surgery back then, I know of people back then that had back surgery back then that regretted having it but not everybody has the same issues.
Good luck with her back issue, I’m sure technically has come a long ways in the past 30+ years for fixing back problems.
