We get what we pay for.
The top of the pay scale is 6 figures for 180 days of teaching. We are getting less than we are paying for.
1976 Dad was getting $12500.00 35 years and a Masters
1986 Ma was getting $21,000 35 years and a Masters
1990 Sister was getting $32,000 for showing up
All K - 12 schools
Any numbers more recent than 30 years old? I don’t think any of us are surprised that nobody was getting six figures teaching when Gerald Ford was president.
