| First of all, congratulations John on your obvious success. I hung up my cleats and bronzed my jock strap 4 crops ago. But I had a son involved to take over, still try to help him as much as I can. The freed up space the farm occupied in my mind allowed me to pursue other endeavors. It’s driving my wife nuts, she retired last year at 57, and wants me to hang it up completely. I’m just not wired that way, my health is good so far, take no pills other than a baby aspirin, and am actually starting another business from scratch at 60 years old. Figure I’ve got another good ten years before I want to hang it up completely. Retirement is to be enjoyed, not endured. Good luck on unwinding your operation. If you have any tax questions regarding minimizing recapture and final grain sales, shoot me an email. Boone. | |
