I thought about keeping a few things and farming the home place here by myself just to stay in touch with my inner farmer. Then my wife reminded me why I wanted to get out in the first place. She is so much smarter than I am.

We had one three year cash rent contract with two years still left on it. I figured if the landlord did not want to let me out of the contract I would just custom hire someone to no-till it to beans and get it custom harvested. But he did not mind letting me out of the contract and already had another farmer lined up that same day.
