Thanks Lucas. I may be seeing some of that this year, just not sure. There are some long term no-till corn fields that stayed green longer. I also see a difference in full tillage summer fallow vs. no-till but the ones I am comparing across the road from each other, the tilled fallow field had a definite lack of control of volunteer wheat in the stubble this spring and I think that was a bigger contributor to that field drying up faster.
One big difference is ground cover. Planting corn or sorghum after dry land beans this year did not work very well. After wheat stubble or continuous crops did much better.
