That is a relevant study for tx/ok panhandle area mike.

To me this is where striptill makes sense nearly everywhere. Till a strip that doesn't have residue issues of either too wet or too dry. That allows cold wet mn soils to warm and dry, it prevents wicking in panhandle type situations. Fertility is placed better. Don't have near the planting issues. Leaves residue in centers for summer. Could interested covercrop between rows.
