Braham MN. | If the foundation is solid, remodel all the way. You can tear out yourself for basically the cost of the dumpster. Work your way through house, room by room. Plan for the future, way cheaper than building new. My parents have remodeled they're 1900 are house over the last 20 years, 9 rooms, 2 bathrooms, 3K square feet.
I bought this house and 20 acres for what your thinking about spending on new. The lower level has original 1918 hardwood floors, grand stair case and all the window and dooor trim, floors are crooked, but beautiful. Upstairs was gutted and redone in 1999 The single level on the front is all new, added in 1998. ask yourself what do you really want in a house, and how much is it going to cost. When I heard this place was for sale, i took it, NO WAY I could build it for what I paid.
