Maybe the consolidation of schools for the last 40+ years wasn’t such a great idea.
We know now that Covid 19 is mostly an airborne disease, and surfaces can be sanitized.
Maybe schools could go to half online. Students could attend school two days a week in two shifts. Split the students into four groups, those students remain together, don’t mingle with other classes or groups. Split lunch into multiple times to keep groups separate.
If a group gets sick it is less likely to spread to other groups.
Teachers have been asking for smaller groups for years, kids could be grouped by ability, education might get better.
One monkey wrench in that plan is siblings.
If you have 3 members of the same house going to school in 3 of the 4 groups, your group separation plan just got compromised. It is a real headache. |
