Northeast Indiana
Again appreciate all the replies.

We're a sub 400 acre farm right now, so getting ahead through bulk purchasing seed or inputs is not in the cards. We have however bought into the theory of buying bigger, older equipment vs. newer, maybe more appropriately sized equipment for the same or more money.

Specialty crops tend to require more maintenance than our schedules allow, and I just had my first daughter last month, so free time is going to be getting less and less.

Marketing is definitely in the top of my list of need to know's, and it seems at the moment to be something that i'm lacking knowledge in.

The writing may be on the wall that we'll never be a big operation or be large enough to be a full time farmer with my wife staying home with the baby, but I still want to be as profitable as possible with what we have.
