Northeast Indiana | I love looking through the information on here and the advancements available to help your bottom line farming, but it seems everything these days requires such a large economy of scale that smaller farms such as ours have a much harder time penciling out how they would ever become cost effective (planter options is a big area that comes to mind).
What have folks found to be simpler ideas/purchases that have shown greater ROI for smaller farms?
I'd have to say the one thing that stands out for us is owning our own sprayer. Between cutting out the applicator costs as well as the ability to shop around for chemicals, it really seems to pay off fast. | |
