I can relate to trying to work thr 40-60 hours in town and trying to farm my acres plus the custom side work. IT DOESNT WORK! I would say a planter and sprayer are the two key things. You can get someone to combine for a year or two until you can afford your own.

We row crop 1200 acres and both work full time. Even our old sprayer did 120 acre on a easy day 160 if you tried. 320 and weekend is a decent start. Even getting out of work at 6pm could do a tankful after work.
