To be honest, most of the add on planter stuff can be a waste of money. Yes some of it can gain yield and efficiency, but knowing how to set up, maintain and most importantly check and adjust your planter goes a lot farther on the bottom line. Spraying also has the benefit of better timing, as does spreading your own fertilizer. Don't forget things like specialty and conventional crops, they can work very well for some operations, or find a niche like for example, in my area there are a lot of town people with horses, they want small square bales to feed so small squares really bring a premium per ton compared to large bales.
