And while I've come across as negative to you, it's more meant to be a dose of reality. Refer to Mac's post below, he's wise beyond his years. I'm not saying you can't do it, but taking care of cattle isn't like taking care of crops. Some guys are oblivious train wrecks, some blow a fuse and don't function well. 2 years ago, we had lots of eye problems, last year hardly any, but lots of footrot issues, what's it gonna be this year? A lot of years the market will absolutely be awful, you'll give away your time for nothing or go backwards (no crop insurance on cows). Guys with calves are always putting out some fire. Mac and I have lived through so many beat down's that our hide has grown thick,,,seen a lot of guys here with town jobs get a few cows for awhile if they have a little spot to put them, usually not a long term enterprise
