I understand. Wasn’t assuming I knew anything because of the books, just relaying ideas is all. Wife grew up on the farm and has horse and pig experience but not cattle, she works at the school but think that will end in a few years and she may just help me after that.

I figured the consensus on good fence would be the common thing but thought I would throw the question out there. I’m thinking no more than 10 head at first is a good idea, never would dream of anything like 50. My father-in-law had cattle 40 years ago and he’s the one who said to not mess around with five or 10 and buy at least 20 but like you said until I know that I for sure like them it’s probably safest to start with less.
