SC WI | I am a little late to the party, but this is why I don’t like custom work. Here is my view point, If you are the farm manager and made the decision to plant soybeans on newly cleared ground, it is mostly your responsibility. Also whoever was operating the combine should have some share of the blame, taking the time in unfamiliar territory, knowing it was recently cleared and be very cautious could have avoided this mishap. On top of that, whoever planted it missed it, I don’t care if it is a 60ft planter.
I think you are fortunate the landowner will help pay. | |
