| The down side is the P load. Someting like 90% of the soil tests done by the ISU soils lab test very high or excessive for P. "In the future", at a very high level, you can only apply manure in the amount equal P take-off. At excessive levels, manure application won't be allowed. You get very high or excessive levels by 1) listening to a fertilizer salesman (very expensive), or by 2) using the land as a disposal site for manure based upon its N level. But, the bottom line is still that people who fight about it just want a fight. P regs will trump all - and they are there for a reason. | |
