It is Jerry Hatfield. Applying manure to soybeans only makes agronomic economic sense if you are using it as a disposal mechanism for manure. (Just to keep the issues straight.) The plant doesn't care where its nitrogen comes from. Late season application of nitrogen can give you a yield boost sometimes but no one does that. At a practical level, this is two opposing camps pushing hot buttons over nothing because in most areas, the P application regs will trump all.
