Masonville, Iowa
The big fear, eddie, is that we will have rules that are based on political science, not sound, applied sciences. At the the EPC meeting, representatives from ISU who are knowledgeable on agronomy and soybean physiology were in attendance and the council saw fit not to gain any information from the researchers. Thanks to Gov. Nutsack, we also have a rule that the Director of the DNR (not elected position) has the discretion to deny a manure permit to a producer even if he/she has followed all the rules and met the guidelines of our current AFO (Animal Feeding Operation) law, which Nutsack signed into law a few short years ago.
