central - east central Minnesota - | Dmpaul89 - 9/14/2017 11:41 Your right about that but they could do three- 8hr shifts like the steel mills instead of two 12hr. Would keep guys from getting stuck working midnights and long hours for ever. It is far cheaper to have less employee's (working 12 hr shifts) then having 3 employee's working 8 hrs . .. .. That's the "secret" to staffing - the less employee's the better the profit margin. Along with Overtime - if for example, you pay $12 bucks and hour and with over time (12hrs), that employee thinks they are really "making" it. 4 hrs overtime @ $18 bucks an hour. (again, that over time is far less expensive then adding an EE and having the "other" costs associated with them, in addition to the wage). |
