Cedar Rapids, Iowa
If looking to use autosteer for planting corn i would recommend at least a SF2 signal from john deere or Omni-star XP or HP for say a trimble auto-pilot. Still you will find with both of these to have some drift depending or soil conditions or implement!! I have used John Deere GS2 with SF2 signal but still find myself shifting. I have heard really good things from a friend running a Omni-star HP. We are trying out RTK this fall but have found that with rolling terrain and being 11.9 miles away from a base station and using a repeater RTK still isn't worth the extra money! Till these companies figure out implement guidance, there is not such thing a year after year same pass accuracy.
