Central Illinois
Like you, we are hooked on autosteer also. On the 4WD's we have the steering wheel setup and used one for planting this year. However, next year, we will have an integrated setup on the planting tractor. There is a huge difference.
We have found that AutoSteer does pay for itself. When we figured several days usage on both field cultivating and chisel plowing, we saved many acres of overlap, to the tune of 20-30 acres a day field cultivating.
These eyes are getting older and while I may be very accurate in the morning, by late afternoon my passes throughout the field were not as accurate and the Autotrack kept me from being that way. Plus, I could watch everything such as depth and tractor info so much more closely so I really believe that it will pay for itself
Next year, as we cut beans on an angle, they're going on the combines too
