North of London | Found a lot of tools, some were scrap only but surprising how many were rehabilitated
As a boy in the 1950ies i remember walking a field where my father lost a 1 1/4 inch wrench, we did not find it. It was on a neighbours farm.
My wife and I bought that farm in the mid 70ies and some years later I found it.
Since I had fathers wrenches in a roll pouch I was able to fill the gap.
Almost found a steel post one night sticking up 4 inches in the furrow while plowing, still don't know why I saw it in time but saved a tire or 2.
Most interesting find was not mine but an uncles.
I was helping him bale hay or straw and it was my turn on the tractor and his on the wagon and he waved me to a stop, hopped off the wagon and went over a couple feet and came up with a silver pocket watch, he saw something shiny and thought to check. This was way back on his farm close to a stream and trees not near buildings or road.
