Missouri

I would have to raise my hand.  Various methods of utilization.  Depends on market opportunities how it is utilized. Not much around cattle has not been done over the years.   Lots of operations are multi phase, not just cow calf. Just keeping and growing replacement heifers would be considered stocker/backgrounding operation for a period. We utilize stockers for oversupply of forage, so in a drought they can be liquidated and not the cow herd. Increase numbers when feeders can be purchased under the cost of production, decrease when paying profit to cow calf and increase cow numbers. Thus why the 10 year cattle cycle means lots to me.    Lots of tools in the toolbox use which ever one fits the markets. Not the same every year.  Flexibility
